Ryan Manuel 2001 Ehrenberg Scholar

Ryan Manual was the inaugural 2001 Ehrenberg Scholar. He also won a number of other prizes and scholarships for his study at University. These included the 2002 WWDC scholarship, a 2003 UniSA Student Mobility grant and a number of subject prizes for his studies in Marketing and International Studies. He was a member of the Chancellor and Dean’s Merit lists from 2001-2005. At the culmination of his studies Ryan was awarded the University medal for the Division of Business, and was awarded upper First Class Honours for his thesis on Chinese energy geo-politics.

During his time at UniSA Ryan was also Vice-President and Head of Equity and Welfare for the Student Union and Vice-President of a number of University clubs and societies. He represented SA in badminton and table tennis, and won a number of state and national titles in these sports. He was also the 2003 Chilean national badminton champion.

Ryan was awarded the 2006 Rhodes Scholarship for South Australia. He is the first UniSA student to win this award, and for his scholarship is undertaking studies in Modern Chinese Studies at Oxford University.

Ryan is an Associate in the Boston Consulting Group’s Melbourne office.
